Keep organiser and vendor cover clear
The event organiser’s public liability cover and a vendor’s business insurance do different jobs. This page is for organisers arranging cover for the event. It is not standalone insurance for food trucks, stallholders, caterers or other participating businesses.
Stallholders need their own public liability insurance of at least $10 million. Food vendors, caterers and other service providers need their own public liability insurance of at least $20 million. Collect current Certificates of Currency before the event.
Check the documents supplied by participating businesses review supplier Certificate of Currency requirements.
Alcohol service at food and wine events
Include accurate alcohol-service details during the quote process. Anyone serving alcohol on behalf of the organiser must hold the required RSA qualification or equivalent, and the event must comply with the applicable liquor-licensing requirements.
Running a market as part of the event
Food and wine events often involve several independent vendors, stallholders and service providers. Keep a record of each participating business, what it does and whether its insurance remains current for the event date.
